eau de toilette last longer and is better.
The difference is in the amount or concentration of essences in the product. The highest concentration is in perfume (or parfum) at 23% to 28%. After that eau de parfum at 19% to 22%, then eau de toilette at 12% to 18%, and finally eau de cologne at 8% to 12%. The lowest concentration is in after shave at 4% to 8%.


Put simply, the higher the concentration of essences the stronger the perfume and the longer it will last.
the smell
I dont think there is a difference. I think ';Toilette'; spray is like the French way of saying Perfume or something.
You're really going to buy perfume. Why not do something like a cute and cuddly stuffed animal, and body mists are more popular, body and bath has a sparkling green apple that's simply divine.
the type of scent
I believe that toilette is a little lighter scent, thats all. But what about flowers? a mixed bouquet? i love them. And personally I am allergic to perfume--make sure shes not!! OKAY???? good luck and I hope you have a good time.
Are you trying to tell her that she smells bad? I wouldn't suggest either for a first date. Go with flowers, something nice, but something that you can't read anything into. That is unless you know the person very well and this is your first date.

Toilette has more water content in it..Perfume is more of a concentrate of the scent and smells stronger
usually eau de toilette is a less concentrated version of perfume, so a bit weaker of a scent. Either might be a bit much for a first date though.
Eau de toilette is diluted perfume
Toilette (Eau De Toilette) is not as strong as Parfum (Perfume) spray. As a result, it is cheaper. If you get good brands (e.g. Guerlain, Kenzo), then EDT is fine. However I don't think you should give either on a first date. If they're any good at all, they'll be a little pricy. And you don't want to buy the cheap stuff because even if it smells nice at first, it will either smell like nothing or like toilet cleaner within about an hour. What about flowers? Or something else? On one first date, I was given a book - and we ended up dating 4.5 years!
