Yeah, I have one their sprays. The perfume smells good, but I'm not into the hot topic fashion.

Why do I always see so many perfumes and eau de toilettes advertised during Christmas time?

I mean, don't people buy this type of item during other times of the year?Why do I always see so many perfumes and eau de toilettes advertised during Christmas time?
this is the time of year to share the gift of giving and anybody that has anything to sell will push it this time of year

Perfume and toilettes?

What is the difference between perfume and toilettes. They are both scents, but what do you do with toilettes?

THANKSPerfume and toilettes?
bella d and cabal are right but we don't say ';perfume'; and ';toilettes'; but ';eau de parfum'; or ';eau de toilette';

if you say toilettes to somebody he'll understand toilets , restrooms ^^Perfume and toilettes?
If you ever come to France be very careful as eau de toilette is perfume but toilettes is toilet, as in loo.

Perfume is the strong, heavily scented one, the scent stays on for a long time

Eau de toilette is diluted, the scent is lighter and shorter lived

Depending on your likes and your own sense of smell you wear either one or the other. In France in the old time (40 years ago) eau de toilette was for young ladies and perfume for married women.

Toilette (water) is lighter, more diluted, so it is less expensive.

The opposite is true of true Perfume- it is more concentrated, stronger smelling and usually more expensive.

Good luck and enjoy!
  • skin color
  • For perfumes what is the difference between parfum & toilette?

    im ordering perfume on ebay and I dont know the difference.

    Thanks a lotFor perfumes what is the difference between parfum %26amp; toilette?
    toilette is watered down and parfum i believe is really strong and not watered down

    Why do perfumes say ';eau de toilette'; on them?

    stupid question i know but i've always wondered why perfumes and body sprays say ';eau de toilette'; on them. from what i've learned in french class that mean toilet water right?

    anyway if you could let me know why in the world they say that it would be very helpful.Why do perfumes say ';eau de toilette'; on them?
    It is the type of perfume. Eau de toilette means it is a lighter, less concentrated fragrance, doesn't last very long, and is also less expensive. An eau de parfum is highly concentrated, lasts longer, and therefore, more expensive.

    I hope this helps!Why do perfumes say ';eau de toilette'; on them?
    If you have ever been in a fine restaurant, or banquet in the states there will be a servant in the bathroom with oils, colognes, and perfumes, combs, brushes, and soaps. He or She will service you as you wash your hands and perfume yourself before returning to your dinner, or banquet. Toilette, in French does not actually mean ';commode'; like it does in English. Toilette means restroom, and the restroom is not a urinal, and a poop stained commode, but is a clean, fragrant, and luxurious experience, which requires a large tip just like the rest of France.
    It means toilet water. Not literally though, implying the fact that the original perfume scent is mixed with water to make it dilute (less strong) and usually the smells wear of pretty fast. All of my perfumes say 'eau de parfume' meaning perfume water, not concentrated. Eau french word for water, de french work for of, toillette french for toilet, and pafrume french for perfume.
    Literally translated, I'm sure that is correct.

    A pure perfume is a concentrated oil. Alcohol is added to dilute it. The stronger perfumes- which are considered better quality- are not eau de toilette. Eau de Toilette is the ';watered down version';

    I think ';toilet water'; is like saying, bathroom water- or a lighter, fresher version of perfume.
    If it says eau de toilet it isnt perfume, its eau de toilet. there is three different types of scents...eau de toilet, which is the least stong...more drowned out with water, and doesnt last long...then there is perfume, which is stronger, and lasts longer, and then there is cologne, which isnt just for men, it is just a scent that has the least amount of water, and it lasts longer, and is very strong...hope this clears it up:)
    you are correct- toilet water.

    It is the lesser expensive version of the perfume. Expensive designer fragrances will sometimes be offered in toilet water or the more expensive perfume version.

    The difference is the concentration of the perfume, or the strength. A little perfume goes much further than a lot of toilet water.

    Hit me with a best answer if you liked this! PLEASE!
    This has to do with the concentration of the perfume.

    The different concentrations include ';eau de cologne'; ';eau de toilette'; and ';eau de parfum'; to name a few.

    Translated literally, it means ';water for washing and dressing';
    it means perfume in french, so does ';parfum';, but eau de toilette is what parfume has always been called. it doesnt mean toilet water. toilette refers more to ';toiletries'; that to ';toilets'; a better translation would be like grooming water, not toilet water.
    they say ';water of the toilet'; to mean like water you put on in the bathroom. like body spray! i know a ton of people already said that, but i HAD to answer. we spent a whole day in french class about this. our teacher gets sidetracked. :)
    Because when it says eau de toilette then that means it doesnt stay as long as the perfume does, usually when it says eau de parfume then the perfume lasts longer but the toilette doesnt.
    Eau is water - eau de toillette is french for 'this perfume isnt very concented'

    translation sounds weird

    water of toilet

    toilet water?
    it says eau de toilette but it basically means the same thing as eau de parfum.
    in french it means ';dispose not toilett';

    they speak backwards kind of like espanole

    so dont throw it away in the toilett!!!
    It means it is more of a body splash, notice it never has a pump/spray nozzle on top? It is not as concentrated.
    eau de toilette is basically a less concentrated version of perfume so it is not as strong

    xoxo
    eau can mean water or cologne while toilette besides toilet means grooming
    Haha. It seems they got the perfume out from the bath.
    LOL really? I didn't know that either. I always wanted to know that too. please We need some translation.
    i think because the toilet smells and this is what you wear to deal with that.
    they mean something along the lines of, ';oder of bathroom (or restroom';
    Trust me, i'm french, french friends, and not even we know...
    lol french for it smells horrible! French people hate Americans that is just a way of them getting back at us jk
    b/c its french.
    hahahaha... I dont have an answer to your question but it made me laugh.

    Why are colognes and perfumes called ';eau de toilette?

    this label, and others like eau de parfum, refer to the concentration of scent. eau do toilette had about a one to six percent concentration so it's more light and doesn't linger as long and is more like a strong body splash. And eau do parfum is a more potent mixture and ';perfume'; is the most potent, and expensive of the bunch.

    Basically, it's a scale for scent concentrationWhy are colognes and perfumes called ';eau de toilette?
    I have seen that on lots of perfume, I think that is french for perfume. See a french dictionary. Good luck.Why are colognes and perfumes called ';eau de toilette?
    I have no idea but isn't it weird? it bugs me it's like why would i want to smell like a ';toillete'; ahah nice question though : )
    water of the toilet? lol i sure wouldn't want to smell like that.
    Long ago, when men shaved and ladies put on makeup and did their hair, the table they used was called a ';toilette';. They would say that they were ';making their toilette';, which means they were cleaning up a tad.

    Eau means scent. ';Eau de fleur'; means scent of flowers.

    Therefore, ';eau de toilette'; means the fragrance that is on your dressing table.

    It's all in the translation.
    It's French for calogne spray.

    Kinda weird though!
    It's in french.. and they consider this phrase perfume in the french language is toilette. It's not pronounced ';TOILET';.
    literally, it means ';toilet water';

    think about it... you go to the bathroom (aka 'the toilet') to freshen up... like putting on perfume
